Africa’s Voices is pleased to announce that Dr. Frasia Wangari Karua has been appointed to our Board of Trustees. Dr Karua joins a distinguished international team of academics, development practitioners, media specialists and business people steering our vision and supporting our team in Kenya and the UK.
Dr. Frasia Wangari Karua is a medical doctor with a Doctorate in Business Administration -Finance and postgraduate training in Public Health and in Organisational Development. She is also a Clinical Leadership fellow of the Joanna Briggs Institute at Adelaide University. She is a member of the Industrial Property Tribunal in Kenya as well as the Global advisory committee of Tech Care for All. She previously served as a member of the Global Access to Medicine Index Expert Review Committee. Frasia has over 10 years of experience in healthcare industry in Africa having worked as the General Manager of Amref Enterprises Limited a subsidiary of Amref Health Africa that she set up as a Social Enterprise; Sub Sahara Medical Affairs for AstraZeneca Pharmaceutical Limited; Medical Insurance Manager at UAP Insurance; Director of Projects at Crystal Hill Limited and Clinical Projects Coordinator & Foundation Board Secretary at Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital. Frasia is passionate about the achievement of SDGs through entrepreneurship, gender equality, sound leadership and governance.
