Patrick O. Onyango, HSC, is the Managing Partner at Pat Consult, a consultancy firm in Nairobi. He has extensive expertise in governance, constitutional development, human rights, devolution, legislative drafting, policy development, and project management. Patrick has holds various significant roles, including Technical Adviser to Kenya’s IEBC Disability Inclusion Coordinating Committee, and member of the Board of Directors of the Global Society for Disability Studies. Other roles held include Co-Convenor of the Legislative Committee of the Building Bridges Initiative, and the Task Force on Devolved Government in the Republic of Kenya. He was a member of the International Technical Advisory Committee on the Constitution of South Africa, the Somalia Peace Negotiations in Kenya and the South Comprehensive Peace Agreement. He has facilitated training and advocacy workshops on constitutional issues, human rights, and disability inclusion for various organizations, including the UNDP, USAID, and the European Union. Patrick holds a Certificate in International Legislative Drafting, a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nairobi, and LLB from Uppsala University. He has authored several works, including “Devolution Made Simple” and contributed to the anthology “Disability and Social Justice in Kenya,” published by Michigan University Press. He has been recognized with the Head of State’s Commendation for his contributions to governance and disability rights in Kenya and Horn of Africa Region.
